POSITION TITLE: Manager, Response Services - TX

REPORTS TO: Manager, Response Services - LA
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Emergency Response Coodinators, Senior Emergency Response Coordinators
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Must have supervisory and/or managerial experience
- Must have response experience and experience with oil spills, complex emergencies involving natural disasters, fires, civil disturbances and pollution responses, and have worked with government and industrial response teams at the local, state, federal and international levels
- Held Incident Commander or Deputy Incident Commander position
- Knowledgeable in various methodologies of oil spill response
- Has basic knowledge of the shipping industry
- Completed and has expert knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Able to respond immediately to emergencies at any moment day or night
- Able to work irregular hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, relocate to emergency sites that require the ability to function under intense physical and mental stress, and travel extensively (weeks to months) on little or no notice when responding to an emergency
- Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to take initiative and effectively lead groups of first responders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts
- Possesses U.S. driver's license, passport, and TWIC
- HAZWOPER Supervisor qualification
- Type 3 IC qualification
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of or prior experience with the public information system and working with media
- Type 1 IC or OSC qualification
Duties and Responsibilities
- Duties and responsibilities of Senior Emergency Response Coordinator
- Manages the Regional Emergency Response Team, the Regional Incident Management Team, and the Regional Response Coordination
- Develops operational response plans for the Region with federal, state, and local jurisdictions and agencies for the development of such plans
- Provides leadership. direction, guidance, and coordination to the response team while lending support to federal, state and local governments of the Region in developing, planning, and implementing a robust Incident Command System and Incident Action Plan
- Manages subordinate supervisors, team leaders, and/or group coordinators to direct, coordinate or oversee work during disaster operations
- Ensures Regions' logistical and personnel requirements are met, in coordination with other regions including pre-positioned disaster contractor and immediate response resources
- Coordinates with and supports Consulting and Sales activities
- Coordinates and integrates operational preparedness, readiness, and execution activities with federal, state and local emergency management organizations responding to incidents, disasters, and/or other emergencies
- Accepts the Incident Commander position and establishes incident command until support arrives
- Works with a variety of high-level individuals (including Coast Guard captains, members of Congress, and members of the media) when responding to emergencies
- Networks and builds relationships to aid in the mission of responding to emergencies as effectively as possible
- Stays up-to-date with industry regulations
- Attends response-related industry meetings
- Maintains positive relations with senior agency officials
- Creates reports, including bi-weekly operations reports and marketing reports
- Assists in all aspects of the Company, and works closely with other Company divisions
- Maintains a general knowledge of vessel nomenclature as well as bridge and nautical etiquette
- Supervises Emergency Response Coordinators and Senior Emergency Response Coordinators if assigned
